Before You Switch Phones — Do This FIRST!
⚠️ Critical: If you switch phones without transferring your Microsoft Authenticator app first, you will be locked out of Outlook, Paycom, and other work apps. Follow this checklist before resetting or trading in your old phone.
Step 1: Transfer Microsoft Authenticator (Before You Switch)
On your old phone:
- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app
- Tap the three dots (⋯) menu in the upper right
- Tap Settings
- Turn on Cloud Backup (iCloud for iPhone, Google for Android)
- Make sure all your accounts are listed and backed up
On your new phone:
- Download Microsoft Authenticator from the App Store or Google Play
- Sign in with the same Microsoft account you used on your old phone
- The app will prompt you to restore from backup — tap Yes
- Verify each account is restored and working
Step 2: Set Up Outlook Email
- Download Microsoft Outlook from the App Store or Google Play
- Open the app and tap Add Account
- Enter your RCS email address (e.g., yourname@redlandschristian.org or yourname@acarcs.org)
- When prompted for two-factor authentication, open Authenticator and approve the sign-in
- Your email, calendar, and contacts will sync automatically
Step 3: Set Up Paycom
- Download Paycom from the App Store or Google Play
- Log in with your Paycom credentials
- If prompted for two-factor verification, use your Authenticator app
Step 4: Set Up Other Work Apps
Depending on your role, you may also need:
- FACTS SIS — download from your app store and log in
- Securly / GoGuardian — log in through your browser
- Intermedia Unite — if you use the desk phone app on mobile
