If you need security camera footage related to an incident on campus — theft, vandalism, a student safety concern, or other events — this article explains how to submit a request and what to expect.
Who Can Request Footage?
Footage requests must be initiated by or authorized by a campus administrator or principal. General staff should coordinate with their campus admin, who will either submit the request or authorize IT to fulfill it.
Requests from law enforcement require proper legal documentation and must go through school administration.
How to Submit a Footage Request
- Contact your campus administrator or principal first and inform them of the incident.
- Once authorized, submit a ticket at acarcs.zendesk.com or email itsupport@redlandschristian.org.
- Use the subject line: Camera Footage Request – [Incident Date] – [Location]
- Include the following in your request:
- Date and approximate time of the incident
- Location(s) on campus where the incident occurred
- Brief description of what happened and what you're looking for in the footage
- Administrator name who authorized the request
- Your name and contact information
Important: Submit Requests Promptly
Camera footage is retained for approximately 30 days before being overwritten. Do not delay submitting a request — if the incident occurred close to 30 days ago, contact IT immediately and note the urgency in your ticket.
What Happens After You Submit
- IT will verify authorization with the named administrator.
- IT will review the footage for the requested time and location.
- Relevant footage will be exported and provided to the authorized administrator (not directly to the requestor, unless they are the authorized admin).
- Typical turnaround is 1–2 business days for standard requests. Urgent safety-related requests will be prioritized.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Camera footage is confidential and subject to school privacy policies. Footage will not be shared with students, parents, or non-authorized staff. All footage access is logged for accountability purposes.
