If you notice a campus security camera that appears to be offline, pointing in the wrong direction, physically damaged, or otherwise not functioning, please report it to IT promptly. This article explains how.
Signs a Camera May Need Attention
- Camera housing is visibly damaged, broken, or tilted at an unusual angle
- Camera indicator light is off when it's normally on
- You were told by an administrator that a camera location is showing no feed
- Camera appears to have been tampered with or vandalized
How to Report a Camera Issue
- Submit a ticket at acarcs.zendesk.com or email itsupport@redlandschristian.org.
- Use the subject line: Camera Issue – [Location]
- In your description, include:
- Location of the camera (building name, area, or nearest room number)
- What you observed (e.g., light is off, camera is pointing down, housing is cracked)
- When you first noticed the issue
- A photo if it's safe and practical to take one
What Happens After You Report
- IT will remotely check the camera's status in the management system.
- If the camera is offline due to a network issue, IT will attempt a remote restart.
- If physical repair or replacement is needed, IT will schedule on-site service.
- You'll receive a ticket update when the issue is resolved.

| Camera physically damaged or vandalized | Same business day — notify admin immediately |
| Routine repositioning or angle adjustment | 1–3 business days |
⚠️ If a camera issue is related to an active safety concern or incident, notify a campus administrator immediately in addition to submitting an IT ticket.
