RCS uses the Intermedia phone system for office phones. This guide covers the most common phone tasks and fixes.
Checking Voicemail
From your desk phone:
- Press the voicemail button (envelope icon) on your desk phone.
- Enter your voicemail PIN when prompted.
- Follow the audio prompts to listen, save, or delete messages.
From the Intermedia Unite app:
- Open the Unite app on your computer or phone.
- Go to the Voicemail section.
- Click on any message to listen to it.

Resetting Your Voicemail PIN
If you forgot your PIN or it's not working:
- Try the default PIN (usually 0000 or the last 4 digits of your extension for new accounts).
- If that doesn't work, you can reset it through the Intermedia Unite app under Settings > Voicemail.
- If you still can't get in, email itsupport@redlandschristian.org and IT will reset your PIN.

Common Phone Issues
No dial tone
- Check that the phone is plugged into the network cable (not the computer port).
- Unplug the phone's network cable, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in.
- If still no dial tone, check if the network jack in the wall is active — try a different jack if one is available.
Can hear the other person, but they can't hear you (or vice versa)
- Check if the mute button is accidentally pressed.
- If using the handset, try switching to speakerphone (or vice versa) to isolate the issue.
- Restart the phone by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
Phone not ringing
- Check the ringer volume — it may be turned all the way down.
- Check if Do Not Disturb is enabled (look for a DND indicator on the phone display).
