If you need a new desk phone, an additional extension, or a change to your current phone setup, this article explains how to submit the request and what to expect.
When to Submit a Phone Request
- You're a new staff member who hasn't received a phone yet
- Your phone needs to be relocated to a different room
- You need a new extension for a classroom, office, or shared space
- Your current phone is broken or malfunctioning and needs replacement
- You need a shared/departmental phone line set up
- You need your extension number changed
How to Submit the Request
- Go to acarcs.zendesk.com and click Submit a Request.
- Use the subject line: Phone Request – [Your Name] – [Room/Location]
- Include the following in your request:
- Your name and department
- Room number or location where the phone is needed
- Type of request (new phone, relocation, new extension, repair/replacement)
- Any specific requirements (e.g., speakerphone, conference phone, shared line)
- Preferred date/time for installation if applicable
What Happens After You Submit
- IT will review the request and confirm availability of equipment and network ports.
- New phone installations typically take 2–5 business days depending on parts availability and scheduling.
- For urgent situations (e.g., no working phone in a classroom or critical office), note "URGENT" in the subject and IT will prioritize.
- IT will contact you to schedule a convenient installation time.
Phone Directory Updates
If your extension or name needs to be updated in the school's phone directory or auto-attendant, include that in your request and IT will coordinate with the Intermedia administrator.
