This guide covers how to transfer calls and set up conference calls using the RCS Intermedia desk phone system.
Transferring a Call
Blind Transfer (Transfer Without Announcing)
Use this when you want to send a caller directly to another extension without speaking to the recipient first.
- While on the call, press the Transfer button on your phone.
- Dial the extension you want to transfer to.
- Press Transfer again (or hang up) — the caller is connected to the new extension.
Attended Transfer (Transfer With Announcement)
Use this when you want to speak to the recipient before transferring the caller.
- While on the call, press Transfer.
- Dial the extension you want to transfer to.
- Wait for the recipient to answer, then announce the caller.
- Press Transfer again to complete the transfer.
- If the recipient is unavailable or declines, press the line button to return to the original caller.
Transferring to Voicemail Directly
- While on the call, press Transfer.
- Dial *55 followed by the extension number (e.g., *551234).
- Press Transfer — the caller goes directly to that extension's voicemail.
Setting Up a Conference Call
3-Way Conference Call from Your Desk Phone
- Call the first participant as normal.
- Once connected, press the Conference button on your phone.
- Dial the second participant's number or extension.
- Wait for them to answer.
- Press Conference again — all three parties are now connected.
Note: Most Intermedia desk phones support 3-way conferencing. For larger conference calls, use a dedicated conference line or Microsoft Teams.
