If your Promethean panel shows "No Internet" or web content isn't loading, use these steps to restore the connection before calling IT.
Step 1: Confirm It's the Panel and Not the Network
- Check if your laptop or phone can reach the internet on the same network.
- If other devices can't connect either, the issue is with the room's network or the school's internet — contact IT.
- If other devices work fine, the panel specifically has lost its connection — continue below.
Step 2: Restart the Panel
- Hold the power button for 3–5 seconds and select Restart.
- Wait for the panel to fully reboot (about 1–2 minutes).
- After restarting, open the browser and try loading a website.
A restart resolves most temporary connectivity drops.
Step 3: Check Wi-Fi Settings on the Panel
- Open Settings on the panel (gear icon in the launcher or swipe down for Quick Settings).
- Go to Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
- Confirm the panel is connected to the correct RCS network. If it shows "Connected" but with no internet, toggle Wi-Fi off and back on.
- If not connected, select the correct network and enter credentials if prompted (contact IT for the network password).
Step 4: Check for a Wired (Ethernet) Connection
Some panels are connected via ethernet rather than Wi-Fi. If yours has an ethernet cable connected:
- Check that the cable is firmly plugged in at both the panel and the wall jack.
- Try unplugging and replugging the ethernet cable.
- If the cable looks damaged, contact IT to replace it.
Step 5: Forget and Reconnect to Wi-Fi
If the panel shows a saved network but won't connect:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
- Tap and hold (or long-press) the saved network name.
- Select Forget network.
- Reconnect by selecting the network again and re-entering credentials.
