Overview
If you are being kicked off Promethean Screen Share during class, the issue is typically related to Wi-Fi connectivity or PC sleep settings. Use the checklist below to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
Wi-Fi Settings to Check
- Confirm your PC is connected to the RCS Devices Wi-Fi network.
- Confirm the Promethean panel is still on Wi-Fi (check its status bar).
- Run Windows Update including optional updates — Wi-Fi driver updates often resolve intermittent drop issues.
Sleep Settings to Adjust
- Set your PC sleep timer to a value longer than your class period. Go to Settings → System → Power & Sleep.
- If sleep settings keep reverting to default, check with IT — a group policy may be overriding your settings.
Screenshare App Settings
- Open Promethean Screen Share and check for available updates.
- After updates, restart the app and reconnect using the Panel ID.
- If the Panel ID is incorrect or not showing, restart the Promethean panel to generate a new one.
