Byte's Field Report
Picture this: it's first period Monday morning - the first day back with students. You tap your BenQ board to pull up your lesson plan and it signs you out. You sign back in. It signs you out again. Twenty-eight kids are watching. This scenario played out across multiple classrooms during the first week back, and IT was on it fast. What was happening: the BenQ boards were running a firmware version that caused sign-in sessions to expire unexpectedly under certain network handshake conditions. It's a known issue BenQ flagged earlier this year. The fix is a firmware update combined with a full power cycle - and that's exactly what Trent and Steve worked through this week, classroom by classroom. If your board is still misfiring - signs you out repeatedly, freezes on the login screen, or shows a spinning wheel - here's your two-step field fix: (1) Hold the power button on the board for 10 seconds, unplug the board from the wall for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. (2) If it still signs you out more than twice after a full power cycle, file a Zendesk ticket with your room number. We'll check the firmware version remotely and push the update. Most classrooms are already patched. If yours isn't, it will be within the hour of your ticket landing.

“When your board signs you out for the third time, it's not personal. It's firmware. And firmware has a fix.”

Theme of the Week
This week's MVP: Trent Stone. Robin Clark was out Monday through Sunday (earned vacation, well-deserved). That left Trent and Steve to handle the first full week back with students solo. Trent closed 15 tickets, led the BenQ firmware sweep across Lower School and Middle School, and kept the Zendesk queue from turning into a parking lot. If your board got fixed this week without you even knowing it was broken, there's a solid chance Trent got there first.

// byte tip of the week
BenQ board acting up? Don't restart from the on-screen menu - that's a soft reset and it won't clear the sign-in cache. Hold the physical power button on the panel for 10 full seconds, then unplug from the wall for 30 seconds. That hard reset clears the session cache and usually solves the sign-out loop. Still misfiring after that? File a ticket - we'll push the firmware remotely.
