Byte's Field Report
Here's a question nobody wants to ask on a Sunday afternoon: what happens when Microsoft itself has a bad day? Not your WiFi. Not your Chromebook. Not the panel in your classroom. Microsoft. As of this morning, six of Microsoft's own services are showing advisories on their official status dashboard - Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, the Microsoft 365 suite, the Microsoft 365 apps, Microsoft Defender XDR, and Microsoft Copilot are all reporting degraded performance. For most of you, this shows up as email running a little slower than normal, the occasional 'Something went wrong' error when opening a Word document in the browser, or Copilot features not responding. None of this affects your locally saved files or your Zendesk tickets - it's Microsoft's infrastructure, not ours. Steve and the IT team are watching the status dashboard, but there's nothing we can do locally to speed up Microsoft's own repairs. The advisory process typically resolves within a few hours. If you hit something today that truly isn't working - a critical file you can't access, a meeting invite that disappeared - submit a ticket and we'll make sure it's not a local device issue before waiting on Microsoft's side to clear.
