Summer on campus looks like quiet hallways and closed classroom doors. Summer in the IT office looks like cable trays, network switches, and a printer audit that has been on the list since October. This summer, we are running a full Printer IP Audit across all three campuses - reconciling which printers are still active, which ones have drifted to incorrect IPs, and which ones have been quietly retired without a ticket. It is the kind of invisible work that makes everything faster when August arrives. We are also laying the groundwork for the Frontier Fiber backbone upgrade, scoping the Visitor Aware iPad deployment for front office check-in, and refreshing the US Yearbook MacBooks. By the time school starts, the network should be noticeably better. You probably won't notice why. That means we did our job.

If your Wi-Fi feels slow, the fastest fix costs nothing: disconnect and reconnect. On a Mac, hold Option and click the Wi-Fi icon for signal strength and channel info. If the signal reads below -70 dBm, move closer to an access point. Your device picks its network automatically - but a fresh reconnect clears a stale session better than a full reboot most of the time.
