Byte's Weekly Debrief
Forty-five tickets. Eight days to summer. One very busy IT crew. This past week was the unofficial start of end-of-year IT chaos, and the numbers back it up. The queue filled up with device checkouts, HR transitions, Chromebook collection requests, printer emergencies, and - in a three-way tie for most efficient subject line - three separate tickets all titled just 'EOY.' Short, punchy, and completely fair. We understood exactly what was needed every time. The top categories this week: HR onboarding and offboarding (8 tickets), hardware issues (6), account requests (6), Chromebook wrangling (5), and printing (4). There's a campus-wide Technology Check-Out scheduled for this Thursday, May 28th at 8:00 AM - if you have devices to return, that's your window. Robin and the team will be ready to receive everything. One heads-up: Microsoft is reporting active service degradation across Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Defender, and Copilot as of this Sunday. If your email feels sluggish or Teams drops a call, it's not your device - it's Microsoft having a rough weekend. IT is monitoring it. You can check live status anytime at status.office365.com.
