Overview
This one is for Lower School admins (Staci Bottomley and Jennifer Romero) managing curriculum app access through Clever's Admin Dashboard. Use it to add or remove admins, connect a new app, or cut a license that is not earning its keep.
Steps
- Add an admin: Clever Dashboard > User management > Admin team > Actions > Add team member. Enter their info, pick a role (Clever Admin, District Curriculum Lead, District Help Desk, or a custom role), and click Add. They get an invite email from no-reply@clever.com.
- Remove an admin: on the Admin team page, click the trash can icon next to their name. If they were synced through SFTP or an SIS file, they can also be removed through administrators.csv.
- Adjust someone's permissions: edit their assigned role on the Admin team page, or build a custom role for least privilege access.
- Add an app or license: Dashboard > Applications > Add Applications, filter by type, subject, or name, then click Request App. Confirm whether it is purchased or a trial, set a launch date, and click Send integration request.
- Control who gets an app: after it is added, set sharing permissions (by District, Schools, Rules, School Site, or Copy Sharing) so only the right students and staff see it.
- Check on setup progress: Dashboard > Applications > My Applications shows each app's status (Requested, Waiting on Approval, Launched, and so on) and its next step.
- Cut a license: Dashboard > Applications > My Applications, open the app, click the arrow icon in the upper right, then Disconnect App. This takes effect immediately and cannot be undone by Clever support, so confirm before you click.
Troubleshooting
- Removed someone from the admin team and their apps stopped working? Add them back as a staff user instead of an admin. Admin access and app access are not the same thing.
- Do not see Disconnect App? Make sure you are viewing My Applications, not the Library. Only apps already connected show that option.
- An app is stuck on Waiting on Approval? That approval comes from the app provider, not Clever. Contact the vendor if it has been more than a few days.
