Overview
You can wirelessly share your Chromebook screen to a Promethean ActivPanel using the Promethean Screen Share Chrome extension. This allows students and teachers to display their screen on the panel without a physical cable connection.
What You Need
- A Chromebook connected to the RCS Devices Wi-Fi network.
- The Promethean Screen Share Chrome extension installed (see Step 1 below).
- The Panel ID displayed on the Promethean panel (visible after launching Screen Share on the panel).
Step 1 — Install the Chrome Extension
- Open the Chrome Web Store and search for Promethean Screen Share, or go directly to the extension page.
- Click Add to Chrome and confirm when prompted.
- The extension icon will appear in your Chrome toolbar.
Step 2 — Start Screen Share on the Panel
- On the Promethean ActivPanel, tap the Screen Share app.
- A Panel ID (4–6 digit code) will appear on screen — note this number.
Step 3 — Connect from Your Chromebook
- Click the Promethean Screen Share extension icon in Chrome.
- Enter the Panel ID displayed on the panel.
- Enter your name (so the panel can identify who is connecting).
- Select the screen or window you want to share.
- Click Share. The panel will prompt for confirmation — approve on the panel.
- Your Chromebook screen is now mirrored on the Promethean panel.
Troubleshooting
- Can't connect? Make sure both the Chromebook and panel are on the same Wi-Fi network (RCS Devices).
- Panel ID not working? Restart Screen Share on the panel to generate a fresh ID.
- Extension not found? Contact IT — extensions may need to be force-installed via MDM.
