Important: For all FACTS-related issues — including login problems, gradebook errors, assignment setup, roster discrepancies, and any other FACTS SIS questions — please email BCrocker@RedlandsChristian.org directly. Betty Crocker manages FACTS administration for RCS and can resolve most issues faster than a general IT ticket.
If you're unsure whether your issue is FACTS-specific or a general IT issue (like network connectivity or browser problems), go ahead and email Betty first — she'll loop in IT if needed.
How to Create Assignments in FACTS
When creating assignments in the FACTS SIS gradebook, you'll need to assign each one to a category — typically Formative or Summative.
If the category dropdown is empty or won't let you select an option:
- Make sure your class and grading period are selected correctly at the top of the gradebook screen.
- Check that assignment categories have been set up for your specific course. If categories are missing, this usually means they haven't been configured for your class yet.

- Your name and the class name (e.g., "Ceramics - Period 3")
- What you see when you try to create an assignment (screenshot if possible)
- Which categories you need (Formative, Summative, etc.)
Tip: If you have a backlog of assignments to enter, keep a written log with dates and scores. Once categories are configured, you can enter them all at once.
What to Do When a Student Doesn't Appear in Your Roster
If a student is enrolled in your class but doesn't show up in FACTS (for example, they're missing from your gradebook or from a skill plan in a linked app like IXL):
- Verify the student is enrolled — check your class roster in FACTS under Classes > Roster. If the student appears there but not in your gradebook, the issue may be a sync delay.
- Check linked apps separately — if using IXL, Khan Academy, or other apps through Clever, the student may need to be manually added to your Clever class. See the Clever Resources article for help.

- The student's full name and grade
- Your class name
- Where the student is missing (FACTS gradebook, IXL, both, etc.)
Common FACTS Login Errors and Fixes
"Access Denied" or can't reach the FACTS login page
- Make sure you're using the correct FACTS SIS URL — not the old parent portal link.
- Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again. See How to Clear Cookies and Cache for step-by-step instructions.
- Try a different browser (Chrome is recommended).
- If you recently changed your password or set up new login credentials, you may need to re-authenticate.
FACTS loads but shows the wrong data or an old semester
- Check the term/semester selector at the top of the page — make sure the current grading period is selected.
- If the problem persists, email BCrocker@RedlandsChristian.org.
Two-factor or password issues when logging into FACTS
- FACTS login is separate from your Google or Microsoft account. If you're being asked for two-factor authentication and it's not working, this may be a browser or network issue rather than a FACTS issue.

- If you're still stuck, email Betty with a description of the error message you're seeing.
How to Sync FACTS with Securly Classrooms
Securly uses FACTS class data to manage student web filtering by classroom. If your Securly classroom roster looks wrong — for example, showing students from a previous semester — this is a sync issue between FACTS and Securly.
Teachers cannot fix this directly. Here's what to do:
- Note which class or students are affected.
- Email BCrocker@RedlandsChristian.org and CC itsupport@redlandschristian.org so both FACTS admin and IT are in the loop.
- Include:
- The class name and section
- Which students are incorrectly appearing (or missing)
- Whether this is affecting Securly filtering for those students
Betty will update the FACTS roster data, and IT will trigger a re-sync with Securly.
