Overview
This guide covers two essential account security tasks: resetting your Office 365 password and setting up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Following these steps helps protect your RCS account from unauthorized access.
Part 1 — Reset Your Office 365 Password
- Open your browser and go to office.com.
- Click Sign In, enter your RCS email address, and on the password screen click Forgot my password.
- Select I forgot my password and click Next.
- Enter your email and complete the CAPTCHA, then click Next.
- Choose your verification method (email or phone) and enter the code you receive.
- Create and confirm your new password, then click Finish.
Part 2 — Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
- Go to aka.ms/mfasetup and sign in with your RCS Office 365 account.
- Click Add sign-in method and choose Authenticator app.
- Download the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone (App Store or Google Play).
- In the app, tap the + button and scan the QR code displayed on the setup page.
- Approve the test notification on your phone to complete setup.
Troubleshooting
- Password reset link not working? Links expire after 10 minutes. Start the process again.
- No verification options available? Contact IT — your account may need admin reset.
